Sizing & Fit Questions

In between sizes, should I size up or down?

Always size down in our pants when between sizes. Leather gives about a half size over the lifetime of wear, and stretch leather will immediately give from your first outing. We recommend a tight fit from first wear, so the pants can give to a snug fit. If you select a perfect fit at try on then they may give to much and lose the look you wanted if a skinny leg.

As a first time leather pants purchaser,  I want ones that have a bit of stretch, which do you recommend?

All our leather pants are made with a stretch leather to provide the best second skin fit possible. We use an advanced technique to bond stretchy fabric with our signature soft leather. The result is dynamic stretchy leather that moves with you. Think your favourite jeans, but in leather.

what size am i?

Generally speaking our sizes are true to Australian Designer standards, and so if you a size 10 Australian thats a medium.

We have a number of resources to help you:

Will my leather jacket stretch?

Leather gives with wear, so yes it will stretch. Generally speaking it will give about a half a size over the lifetime of wear. From a fitting point of view, we recommend a snug fit, not tight, not too loose. Just gently snuggly so when the leather gives it still has the slim look you desire.

I need help with measuring?

Our tips to measuring yourself for a leather jacket:

Shoulders

Depending on the jackets design, the shoulder’s seam should finish on your shoulder tip. For drop shoulders or raglan sleeves it’s less important.

Sleeve Room

You want to make sure you have a snuggly fit on the sleeves with enough room to layer up or down. Most of our jackets are designed to have slim arms, so that bicep measurement might be an important one to check.

Hips

For some of our jackets they finish at the hips or even lower, and all women are shaped differently so for coats like Greenwich Drape Coat, you might need to take into account the hip measurement and size up. You don’t want any pull or tightness on your hips in a jacket or a coat shape.

Leather Quality & Care Questions

Will the leather change over time?

Yes! Leather gets better and better with wear and time. Leather will mould to your body and shape to feel like a custom fit. The hand-feel will continue to soften every time you wear it. The appearance of leather will age too, if you like. You can let your leather age, soften in colour, get that real worn-in feeling… or not! If you prefer to keep the tone crisp and new you can followour care instructions. Cleaning, moisturising and conditioning leather can bring the tone back to knew! (of course this only applies to smooth surface leather).

how do i STORING my leather jACKET?

Treat your leather jacket with love and care and it will treat you to a lifetime of wears.

Hang your leather jacket on a well shaped hanger.

If you’re travelling away from your wardrobe, place your jacket in the West 14th cloth bag to ensure no damage comes to the item. Don’t worry – your jacket can easily breathe through the cotton fabric.
